The South Korean girl group Twice has claimed the number one spot on the Billboard 200 this week with their latest album “With You-th.” Their album has debuted at the top of the chart, making them the first band to achieve this milestone.

With their debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, As With You-th makes Twice the third South Korean girl group to achieve this milestone. They join a select group of all-female acts from the Asian nation who have reached the top spot on the competitive American chart, with each artist only accomplishing this feat once.

Blackpink, the first South Korean girl group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, has been renowned as one of the top all-female K-pop groups for a long time. It took them some time, but their second full-length album, Born Pink, finally achieved the top spot on the chart in 2022.

In the previous year, a different South Korean girl group also achieved the top spot, effectively increasing the number of successful female acts from the country. NewJeans reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their EP “Get Up” in August of 2023, narrowly surpassing the Barbie soundtrack which came in second place.

With Youth debuts at the top of the Billboard 200 chart due to strong sales of 95,000 equivalent units in its first week. The album sold 90,000 pure copies, with the rest made up of streams and individual song purchases.
