Pop singer ERIK’s debut at iLani has Portland audiences going wild

The Tết Phát Tài concert was held at Ilani Casino & Resort to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024, which is the “Year of the Dragon.” We had an amazing time with Vietnamese variety singers, featuring the incredibly talented Vietnamese pop sensation ERIK. The performance also showcased a fantastic lineup of Paris By Night performers, including popular stars Duong Trieu Vu, Dan Nguyen, Nguyen Hong Nhung, Diem Suong, and the comedic skills of Van Son and Bao Liem. The lyrics in Chinese were performed by Alex Kong.

The Tết Phát Tài concert drew approximately 2,500 attendees at ilani. The concert was scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm and was expected to finish by 11:55 pm. However, it went over its allotted time and ended at 11:45 pm. Additionally, the dragon dance took place from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend it.

When ERIK performed his famous hit song, Ghen, without Min, his duet partner, the audience reacted enthusiastically. The song has accumulated a staggering 143 million views on YouTube.

Erik, whose real name is Lê Trung Thành, is a talented Vietnamese singer and dancer. He first gained recognition by participating in The Voice Kids of Vietnam in 2013, and eventually became a member of the musical group Monstar. His outstanding talent has earned him four nominations at the prestigious Dedication Music Award, where he holds the distinction of being the only artist nominated twice for the esteemed “New Artist of the Year” category.

After the performance, Erik had a dinner reservation scheduled. However, Erik wanted to remain behind and have a photo session with his supporters. As per the casino’s instructions, Erik had a time limit of ten minutes to reach the restaurant for his meal. He spent ten minutes taking pictures with his followers before leaving for the restaurant.

In conclusion, our overall experience was incredible, especially thanks to the photographs. I do acknowledge that the time given for each vocalist to perform within the two and a half hours was insufficient.

I want to express my gratitude to Sean Pham for gathering this talented group of performers. I am particularly thankful for his efforts in bringing together individuals from various parts of the country at a single venue. It’s not an easy task.
