Earlier this week, “Love Hard,” a romantic holiday comedy starring comedian Jimmy O. Yang, was the most-watched film on Netflix in the United States and the United Kingdom.

According to Flixpatrol, a website that collects streaming data on movies and TV shows, the film, directed by Hernán Jiménez, was the No. 1 movie on Netflix from Monday to Wednesday, We’ve Covered This reported.
Despite receiving only 56 percent on the magazine aggregation website Rotten tomatoes, the rom-com managed to garner a 96 percent audience point out of over 1,000 ratings. IMDB also gave the film a 6.4 out of 10 ratings.
Nina Dobrev, who plays Natalie Bauer in the film, thanked everyone on Twitter for watching and supporting “Love Hard” on Netflix.
“Love Hard,” tells the story of Bauer, a dating columnist who finds love through an online dating app. She meets Josh Lin (Jimmy O. Yang |) through the app, but after flying 3,000 miles to meet him, it is clear that he was catfished and that Lin used the picture of another man, Tag, instead (Darren Barnet).
In an interview with Pop Sugar, Yang, 34, stated that rom-com gives “hope of love” to “underdogs, much like me.”
“It’s like, ‘Oh, there’s a shot for me out there or a chance out there,'” he explained. “This role isn’t written for a specific ethnicity. I think it’s fantastic that they recognize me as an Asian person and that my [onscreen] family is made up of Asian actors. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the losers.”
Puru Wow reports that “Love Hard” made its Netflix streaming debut on November 5.

This film is extremely unsettling to watch. You do realize this is just a movie, don’t you? It’s not true. In reality, white women do not date Asian men, particularly ugly Chinese men. It’s not a particularly romantic film.
It’s just a movie, after all.
