Hoang Kieu billionaire asked Sky Music to repay the copyright of $150,000 / song

Mr. Hoang Kieu, the late grandson of musician Hoang Thi Tho, claims to ask Sky Music to pay royalties to use Hoang Thi Tho’s music for $150,000 / song. Some foreign companies violated and demanded compensation at this level.
Musician Dinh Trung Can, General Director of Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center (VCPMC), said Mr. Hoang Kieu is currently the owner of music works by musician Hoang Thi Tho and his representative co-authorize VCPMC on behalf of the owner to perform all issues related to copyright.
Accordingly, billionaire Hoang Kieu will sue Sky Music (authorizing VCPMC to resolve the case) for using Hoang Thi Tho’s work without permission.
“According to the results of the check with the list of works provided by Sky Music and confirmed by the Office of the Judge, musician Hoang Thi Tho is one of about 700 authors whose works have been and are being used by Sky Music infringement that VCPMC has announced to the press in the past time” – Mr. Cẩn confirmed.
According to information in the document sent to VCPMC, Mr. Hoang Kieu asked for compensation of 150,000 USD / song. Mr. Huangqiao affirmed that some overseas companies violated copyright, he also demanded compensation at this level.
Mr. Hoang Kieu and his own lawyer are choosing Vietnamese lawyers who are knowledgeable about Vietnam Intellectual Property Law, as well as International Copyright Law and international conventions that Vietnam is a member to represent him. suing Sky Music Company for violating copyright to court.
In a document to VCPMC, billionaire Hoang Kieu wrote: “I suggest the center transfer this theft to criminals and send it to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to handle”.
