The Da Nang People`s Committee has recently approved the project of An Thuong Tourist Zone located on the coast of My An Ward, turning it into a 24/7 service point for tourists.
This was proposed by Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Chairman of the Ngu Hanh Son District People’s Committee in the morning of February 1, 2018. The project will be jointly developed by the district and the city Department of Tourism to provide directions for further tourism development in the area by providing management solutions, infrastructure investment, and organizing different service zones. The project’s objectives include creating 24/7 entertainment and shopping destinations and building distinct products that meet tourism demands.

The district and city authorities will implement the project on tourist streets within the year. “I trust that in the near future, the An Thuong night streets will become widely known among tourists and become an impressive destination in Danang,” Thi said confidently.
At the An Thuong nightlife district, the model of international and local touristm, spacial orientation, zoning/planning, as well as investment and operation is similar to some overseas nightlife tourist zones. The coastal area for tour services will host various sea-related events and tourism festivals. Additionally, a square will be built to host outdoor activities and events.
The walking streets will be organized at An Thuong streets 1-4 and Tran Bach Dang Street. In addition, guidelines for operations after midnight will be proposed issue. The Ngu Hanh Son District People’s Committee will mobilize and encourage related hotels to renovate sidewalks, manage their green areas, organize residential activities, ensure local security and social order, as well as the personal safety of tourists.
The An Thuong nightlife zone, which lies close to the beach, is surrounded by 4 streets: Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Ke Viem, Chau Thi Vinh Te, and Ngo Thi Si. There are currently 141 service businesses in the area, including 64 accommodation providers, 43 catering service providers, 12 shopping facilities, 8 cosmetics/spa facilities, and 6 sports/health facilities.
An Thuong Quarter has recorded nearly 268,000 visitor stays (not including tourists who just visited and/or used other services) within the first 9 months of 2017. More than 74,000 visitors were international tourists, mainly from Europe, the US, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and China. At the peak season, the number of visitors averaged at 1,500 guests per day, while at the low season there were 651 guests per day, according to My An ward report.
