Vietnamese Voice Judge Gives Star Treatment To New Movie
Former contestant and current judge of The Voice Kids Vu Cat Tuong has released a new music video for her song, ‘Cô gái ngày hôm qua’ (The Yesterday Girl), the title track of the highly anticipated movie ‘Co dai den tu hom qua’ (The Girl from Yesterday).
The popular singer dropped the video just yesterday, 15 June, and it has already received over 17,000 hits on YoTube. It sees Vu Cat dreamily wandering through lush green fields while singing her heartfelt ballad, eventually finding a bookshelf full of props from the movie, from exercise books to a vase full of marbles.
Interspersed with clips from The Girl From Yesterday, the video and touching song is a perfect accompaniment to the film: a nostalgic romp through awkward high school crushes and innocent young love.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by highly successful author Nguyen Nhat Anh. Nguyen is one of the most popular writers of adult fiction in Vietnam, with the film adaptation of his novel Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh (Yellow Flowers on Green Gras) going on to become the highest ever grossing drama at the Vietnamese box office. The Girl from Yesterday is set to hit cinemas on 21 July.
