The star of 1990s music – Bằng Kiều, Tuấn Hưng, Anh Tú, and Tường Văn

Ban nhạc Quả Dưa Hấu was established in 1998 with the help of musician Ngoc Chau. Group consists of four members: Anh Tu, Bang Kieu, Tuan Hung, Tuong Van (left). Quả Dưa Hấu has a young, modern style of music, such as the new breeze of Vietnamese music in the late 1990s. Group hits such as Mặt trời dịu êm, Hè muộn, Get Down … được nhiều thế hệ yêu mến.

After nearly two years with the group, Bang Kieu left the Quả Dưa Hấu to sing solo. The group added Hồ Hoài Anh and Minh Quân. However, Tuong Van share two new members quickly, almost no time to do anything with the band. In 2000, Quả Dưa Hấu fall apart. They went their separate ways and developed their own careers.

Born in 1973, Bang Kieu was the oldest in the group. After leaving the group, he quickly gained much success in his solo singing career.
While at the peak of his career, Bang Kieu moved to the United States and he appeared on many overseas stages. In 2004, he was banned from performing in Vietnam for misleading statements. In 2012, Bang Kieu was licensed to perform again in his hometown.
Currently, Bang Kieu actively participate in music activities in Vietnam. He regularly appears in the big concert. Bang Kieu served as judge of Vietnam Idol 2016.
Tuan Hung was born in 1978. After the collapse of Quả Dưa Hấu, Tuan Hung start developing his singing career. He has many hits such as Tình yêu lung linh, Dĩ vãng cuộc tình, Tìm lại bầu trời… Nam ca sĩ ghi dấu ấn với phong cách bụi bặm, nam tính.
He was the coach of The Voice of Vietnam in 2015 with My Tam, Dam Vinh Hung, Thu Phuong.
Anh Tu was born in 1977. After leaving Quả Dưa Hấu, his singing career quite quiet. In 2010, he went to Ho Chi Minh City to set up a business. Many people know him with the nickname Tu Dua. Male performers are quite successful as musicians, producers. He is the composer of many hit songs for Tuan Hung like Nắm lấy tay anh, Anh nhớ em, Sẽ không còn nữa…
Anh Tu and Tuan Hung are very close. Tuan Hung once donated a car worth 700 million dong to thank Anh Tu for bringing him in his career and life.
Tuong Van was born in 1979 in artistic family. His father is People’s Artist Bui Gia Tuong and his mother is a dancer. Tuong Van was appreciated in its ability to play musical instruments and composing music. After Quả Dưa Hấu, he joined the Youth Theater and concentrated on writing music.
Tuong Van is the owner many hits like Đêm lao xao (Phương Thanh), Tự khúc mùa đông (Lam Trường), Giấc mơ tình yêu (Mỹ Tâm), Rồi mai thức giấc (Mỹ Tâm), Tiếng gió xôn xao (Đàm Vĩnh Hưng), Mùa đông xa vắng (Phương Thanh), Nơi thời gian ngừng lại (Tuấn Hưng)…
